The Swensruds

Welcome to our family website!

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas this year celebrating the birth our Savior!

Our Christmas festivities started on Christmas Eve as we spent time with our families. On Christmas morning we had our family Christmas with just the four of us and then the rest of our family joined us in the afternoon for Christmas dinner and fun.

Caleb and Emma's stockings

Our tree on Christmas morning.

After making hot chocolate for Mommy and Daddy and getting milk for Emma and Caleb, we sat down to read Luke chapter 2: the story of Jesus's birth.
"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." ~Luke 2:11

Then we opened our stockings.

Emma with her new NBA Barbie.

Caleb was excited to find fishies in his stocking!

Caleb playing with his new cars. Cars are his favorite toys right now.

Taking a snack break to enjoy some fishies. =)

Emma was excited to get new pretties for her hair.

Daddy opening his stocking.
Mommy was taking all the pictures so there are no pictures of Mommy's stocking, but she did get one filled with goodies! =)

Time for presents!
Caleb got more cars!

Caleb opening more presents...bet it's another car! ;)

Emma opening her Deluxe Marble Race (aka marble works). Both Emma and Caleb have really enjoyed playing with this toy! In the background, Daddy is helping Caleb open his new tool bench.
Daddy's big present this year was Logos 4 Bible software. We have really enjoyed using this program, but we still have a lot more to explore with it.
Mommy's big present this year was a new digital camera. The pictures prior to this point are from my old camera and the pictures after this point are from my new camera. I'm enjoying playing with my new toy!

Caleb's new way of helping Daddy vacuum the floor. He's an extra floor sweeper. =)

Our happy boy!

Emma's ready for the party to start!

Then it was time for the adult gift exchange. We play White Elephant style, but each adult that wants to play brings a new wrapped gift or gift card.
Matt is showing off his new neck massager.

Mike and Catherine with their gifts. Well, at least that was Mike's first gift. I think he got to choose 5 or 6 different gifts throughout the game because his kept getting stolen. =)

Dana's gift was a set of 8 mixing bowls.

Amy, my dad, and Ryan enjoying watching people open their gifts (and scouting out what they might want to steal).

Denise showing off her new alarm clock. It even shows the time on the ceiling!

My dad opening his Red Lobster gift card.

Amy ended up with the blankets...her favorite colors.

After the gift exchange, we ate dessert and played games. Ok, we ate dessert all night because there were so many goodies. =)
The grandparents played Chutes and Ladders (without any kids).
Others watched Mr. Bean. And the rest of us played The Settlers of Catan.

Caleb even tried to help us play Settlers. What a big helper!

He was so excited to have the dice! And, he learned to say "Auntie Dana"...Caleb was loving all the attention. =)
Merry Christmas!!
