The Swensruds

Welcome to our family website!

Trip to the Zoo

My dad and I took the kids to the Pt. Defiance Zoo yesterday. Emma had a lot of fun seeing all the animals (she's really into animals right now) and Caleb even got to see a few animals too.
We went through the shark exhibit first. Since strollers weren't allowed in this exhibit, we carried Caleb in his car seat through this one.

Caleb watching a shark swim by. I think it scared him because he started crying shortly after this. So, we turned his car seat around.

Emma watching the sharks swim by after we explained to her that the sharks couldn't get her because there was glass between us and them. :)

This was one of the biggest sharks in the tank. He just layed on the bottom the whole time we were at this exhibit.

Papa and Emma reading about the animals.

The tiger taking a nap.

Emma and Papa watching the tapir. As you can probably tell, my dad held Emma while looking at most of the animals. One of Emma's favorite phrases right now is, "Just hold me."

Emma and Papa watching the efalents (that's how Emma says elephants).

Caleb's first trip to the zoo.

The antlers on this reindeer were really cool looking.

Caleb took a short nap after having his bottle.

Emma and Papa watching the beluga whale.

Look how big that walrus is.

Emma taking a ride in the stroller...she can get heavy after awhile and Papa's back needed a rest. This double stroller was a great investment! I use it all the time.

Emma, Caleb, and Mommy on the bears outside the zoo.

After our trip to the zoo, both kids were wiped out. Each of them took a 2+ hour nap! (Quiet time for Mommy!!)
This is after those famous last words..."I'm not tired."
